Dahlicous way to dress up

Fantastic Mr Fox, a witch and an Oompa Loompa were amongst the amazing array of characters seen at a Shrewsbury school this week.

The pupils of Prestfelde Preparatory School in London Road took part in the national ‘Dahlicious Dress-up Day’ which is held in aid of author Roald Dahl’s children’s charity.

“It was a great event, with the pupils from throughout the school really getting into the spirit of the day and arriving in some superb costumes,” said Caroline Williams, Prestfelde’s registrar.

“Roald Dahl is one of our favourite children’s authors here at Prestfelde and his imaginative stories and colourful characters really inspired the pupils to make a great effort – they looked absolutely brilliant.”

The school organises regular charity events throughout the year, raising money for a range of different causes.

The Dahlicious Dress Up event collected over £150 in sponsorship for the charity, which raises money to help seriously ill children and young people by providing nurses, equipment and support for families.
