Charity Zip Wire Challenge

Shrewsbury and Atcham MP Daniel Kawczynski unexpectedly joined in the Hope House zip wire challenge yesterday [Sunday 02 June 2013] after a local businessman offered to donate £1,000 to see him take part.

The Quarry Park, Shrewsbury was the venue for the latest fundraising event with many thousands of pounds being raised by local people to support this amazing charity.

Daniel Kawczynski MP said:

“I had gone along to this event as a spectator; to offer my support to all the many brave people that had signed up to take part in the zip wire challenge.   I met up with Shropshire businessman Mr Graham Reeves, who had sponsorship pledges of over £5,000 for taking up the challenge himself.  When he offered to donate £1,000 more to see me jump, how could I possibly refuse?  It was great fun, but more importantly, a lot of money was raised for a very worthwhile cause.
Hope House provides invaluable specialist care and support to young people and their families and I was pleased that more money was raised as a result of me taking part on the day.”
