Beauty evening to boost charity

A specialist stylist who works with cancer patients who have lost their hair will be on hand at a pampering event in Shrewsbury next week.

Lauren Foskett, salon manager at Toni & Guy in Castle Street, Shrewsbury, is attending the beauty evening at Boots in Pride Hill on October 30.

Organised in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, the event will be hosted from 5.30pm until 9pm and will also be an opportunity for customers to chat to Boots’ Macmillan beauty advisors who are trained in alleviating the visible side effects of cancer treatment.

There will also be skincare and cosmetic advice for weddings and special occasions, tips about seasonal party looks and hand massages from a Shrewsbury beauty salon, as well as goodie bags and a raffle in aid of Macmillan.

Lauren said that everyone was invited along to enjoy the beauty evening.

“Macmillan is one of our favourite charities so it is great to be involved in another fund-raiser for this excellent cause,” she commented.

Lauren became the first hairdresser in the region to specialise in working with the Macmillan charity and people affected by cancer.

She spent time on a training course in London, meeting with Macmillan nurses and people who had lost their hair through chemotherapy treatment and learning about what they go through and how she could help.

Booking an appointment at the beauty event next Wednesday is recommended, by calling Boots on 01743 351311.
