Bar re-launch, new head chef in place and events on the way at The Silverton

150 people, including the town’s mayor Cllr Jon Tandy and his wife Diane, attended last week’s (18 September) re-launch event of The Silverton Hotel bar, Shrewsbury.

The refurbishment, which has added a lighter, rustic feel to its interior and main entrance, was completed with minimal disruption to guests and is in-keeping with its location.

Established in 2011 the Frankwell based hotel bar and restaurant offers its customers a variety of light bites at lunchtime to full evening meals, complemented by a selection of beers, spirits, real ales and cocktails. As well as a change in the décor, there are new additions to the team including head chef Tom Baldwin and cocktail specialist Patrick Moody.

Commenting on the event and the future, The Silverton Hotel’s manager Tim Moody, said: “We had a fantastic turn out for last week’s re-launch and everyone was impressed with the subtle changes we’ve made to the bar. We feel it is even more inviting to people calling in for a drink and especially during our daily happy hour! For those wishing to eat, our head chef Tom will be offering diners a sumptuous selection of food from the new menu. We also have other events planned leading up to and over the Christmas period and welcome local residents, tourists and business people to sample what we and Frankwell have to offer, which with its individual shops, great pubs, restaurants and nightlife is now an established, vibrant part of town.”
