Award winning Shropshire company launches do it yourself yoga cards

The owner of an award winning yoga company has launched a set of fun do it yourself activity cards making it easier for teachers and parents to teach yoga stretches and exercises to babies and young children either at home or school.

The fun cards are the latest product to be developed by Shropshire businesswoman Michele Burton, founder of Mitchy Titch which operates 120 baby and children yoga classes across the UK and Ireland.

The pack contains 52 cards each illustrating a different type of yoga stretch and exercise.

They are five colour coordinated categories covering flexibility of the spine and posture; balance, focus and concentration; partner stretches for confidence; cooperation and trust and inversions for calming and general well-being.

Mrs Burton, who recently moved to Madeley in Telford from Staffordshire, said: “The activity cards are a great little aid for use with childrens’ yoga classes or for teachers to use in PE lessons or for parents to use at home with their own babies and children.

“They are a real fun way to teach yoga exercises and stretches to young children and encourage interaction.”

The cards have been designed with the Mitchy Titch monkey and as well as displaying a picture the cards also explain the benefits and cautions of each exercise or stretch.

“Parents already using them have found them fantastic for helping to explore their child’s imagination by using them to make up fun and active stories,” said Mrs Burton.

“It is a lovely way to get interactive with your child and the benefits of yoga are massive from helping to generate healthy sleep patterns, improving digestion, reducing anxiety, helping with strength, flexibility, coordination, imagination and creativity and aiding concentration.

“As far as we are aware we are the only company to have devised yoga activity cards in this particular style specifically for toddler and child yoga which is fantastic and we are currently selling them on Amazon, Ebay and our own website.”

Mrs Burton founded Mitchy Titch in 2008 and has since seen the company grow to 33 licensees running 120 classes in locations from Tyne and Wear down to Hampshire and across to Ireland.

Mrs Burton started the business due to her passion to want to make a difference to parent and carers relationships with their babies and children, whilst having physical activity and educational learning, preparing them for school and

nursery and promoting a physically fit lifestyle whilst teaching parents and children how to interact with each other.
