Abseil event at St Mary Church

On Saturday 13 September,  The Churches Conservation Trust will be hosting an abseil event at the Church of St Mary the Virgin right in the heart of Shrewsbury.

This is a unique opportunity to take in the stunning views at the top before your descend begins!  The registration fee is just £20 per person (non refundable) and there is a target sponsorship of £100 per person.

We can help and advise you on how to reach this target so please don’t worry!

This is a great opportunity to take part in a fun local event whilst raising funds for a wonderful cause.  The Churches Conservation Trust is the national charity protecting historic churches at risk.  We’ve saved over 340 buildings which attract almost 2 million visitors a year.   Our unique collection of English parish churches includes irreplaceable examples of architecture, archaeology and art from 1,000 years of history.

The CCT works with local people to bring historic churches back into the heart of the community and use as a social, tourism, educational or cultural resource and ensures that important buildings are saved for future generations to enjoy.  St Mary the Virgin’s Church is the only complete medieval church in Shrewsbury and one that is treasured for its beautiful stained glass.

Hear at CCT, we believe it would make a brilliant day out for any group, young or old (Children 11+ welcome).  Be a thrilling physical challenge and most importantly, you’d be supporting your local church.

If you would like to take part in our abseils or would like to get a bit more information please contact Chris Crooker [email protected]/ 07545 203 617
