7 Magnificent Reasons to Visit Shrewsbury Winter Festival

1) With the days flying by this time of year and the never ending to do lists getting longer, make life easy shopping at Shrewsbury Winter Festival – you’ll find gorgeous and unique gifts, Christmas decorations and of course fantastic local, seasonal food.

2) It’s a fantastic family day out with lots of activities for children.  Come and make Christmas decorations, see the reindeer, graffiti a Christmas stocking and watch our festive Punch and Judy show.  You’re guaranteed to make some fabulous Christmas memories.

3) It’s also the perfect get together for friends.  Grab a few mates and enjoy a couple of hours on the Festive Ale Trail and Festive Cake Trail around town.  Enjoy a hot chocolate in our festive tipis and get that all important shopping done in the main marquee.

4) Good Fun, Great Cause. Enjoy the tasting trail around town, indulge in a mince pie and mulled wine from sponsor Monks or enjoy a tasty bowl of soup from Shrewsbury College and you’ll be helping raise money for Shrewsbury Ark.  The charity in the heart of Shrewsbury provides a safe haven for those in need. They provide the basic things that most people take for granted. The Shrewsbury Ark supply warm clothes, bedding, personal items and a hot meal or cup of tea and a chat when needed.   They also provide valuable advice, or professional help, and overall support to all their clients in need.  Last year we rose over £3000 for the charity and we would like to raise even more this year!  We will also have 60 real Christmas trees that we will be selling off to raise funds for the Harry Johnson trust.

5) We took on board the lessons from last year and have a huge marquee and more flooring so the weather won’t affect your enjoyment of the festival this year!

6) It’s a great value day out … adult tickets cost £6.00, children £1.00 and a family ticket is just £12.00 and that admits two adults and up to three children.  Once inside there are plenty of free activities.  Those where there is a charge it is nominal and in most cases the money goes to charity.

7) It will totally put you in the Christmas mood … don’t forget our festival sing-a-long at 3pm each day!

Gates open at 10am each day.  For full details and advance tickets go to www.shrewsburychristmas.co.uk
