Student Sponsorship at Wellmeadow Consulting

Are you in Year 13 at Shrewsbury Sixth Form College?
Have you applied for university?
Would you like a sponsorship to help with the expense?

…then apply for Wellmeadow Consulting to give you a little extra money to put towards your studies.

The Sponsorship – What you get

We will be choosing one lucky winner and awarding them £500 which can be spent in anyway you wish. £500 could cover a new laptop or iPad, a couple of months rent (depending where you go to university), or even nights out for an entire term.

In addition, you will also have the opportunity to gain practical paid work experience at Wellmeadow during your holidays from university. With more and more people gaining a degree, this is an experience which will make your CV stand out from the increasingly competitive crowd. We can offer you experience across a range of sectors, and you could end up working on a variety of projects, from developing business plans to working on marketing campaigns.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-renowned and trusted local company” - The View from SSFC – Chris Hose, Student Support Tutor

What do I have to do to apply?

We are taking applications from anyone who meets all of the following criteria:

  • Has applied for a university place in the UK to start September/October 2015
  • Currently in year 13 at Shrewsbury Sixth Form College

If you meet this criteria and are prepared to also take up paid work experience in your summer holidays from university, the application process is as follows:

  • Online Application Form
  • Online numeracy & literacy tests
  • Assessment Centre

At each stage of the process we will filter the applicants down further according to our criteria. We hope to invite approximately 8 students to the Assessment Centre at our new offices on Roushill, there will then be a final interview for the chosen candidate. The assessment centre will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 25th March.

Even if you are not selected for the sponsorship, you will experience a professionally run Assessment Centre, which will be similar to the Assessment Centres run by leading graduate employers. This could be more valuable than the sponsorship you could receive, when you consider the future earning potential if your experiences help you secure a job after graduating.

Please note the deadline for applications is Monday 23rd March 2015.

What skills will I be tested for?

Here at Wellmeadow our employees come from a variety of backgrounds, however what we all have in common is a thirst for knowledge and striving to be the best at what we do. The company was originally founded by Engineers and Scientists so we have a definite inclination towards analytical skills. We are also hugely technology focussed and greatly value innovative ways of using existing, and new, technology. With this in mind the key skills we are looking for include:

  • Communication
  • Numeracy & IT literacy
  • Logical reasoning
  • Business awareness
  • Team working

Whatever your degree, if you feel you have something to offer a young and upcoming company, please make sure you apply today.

“During my brief time at Wellmeadow I have had experience in how the real business world works. I was openly embraced into the team and treated as a real employee from the day I started. I had set tasks and deadlines to meet including; the research and analysis of competitors and Wellmeadow’s clients, learning and developing my data handling and presentation skills using Excel and Piktocharts and working on their social media campaigns by writing articles, blogs and tweets. I also had the opportunity to visit with some of their clients, observing confidential meetings and experiencing the reality of being a management consultant. The assessment centre process in itself has taught me a lot of valuable skills that has helped me throughout my law degree so far, when performing mock client interviews but also when speaking with prospective employers and guest speakers we have had to visit the law school. I cannot stress enough how incredible an experience Wellmeadow can offer, that will develop both your personal and professional skills essential to further education as well as the work place and future employment.” - Previous Winner – Stephanie Antrobus – 2014 Winner
