Boutiques boost Shrewsbury's Square

Two new retail outlets have opened in Shrewsbury’s Square, meaning that every unit in this thriving area of town is now full.

A new shop specialising in sound systems, Acoustic Boutique, and children’s wear store JoJo Maman Bebe, have both been launched in the last few weeks.

David Whittaker has been recruited, along with two other people, to work at Acoustic Boutique. He said: “We are very pleased to open our new shop, which is bringing the prestigious Bose brand back to Shrewsbury after a break of three years.

“It is an exciting addition to the town’s great range of independent retailers and we are delighted to be have secured premises in The Square which is a thriving area now, ” he said.

Three staff members from the Bose UK headquarters in Kent attended the opening of the shop. Senior manager Sally Reeves said: “It is a pleasure to see our brand returning to Shrewsbury and we wish the Acoustic Boutique every success – we are sure that with such an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team they will thrive in this excellent location.”

Kirsten Henley from the Shrewsbury Business Improvement District added:  “The Square is continuing its transformation as an even better place to shop, eat and enjoy the culture and entertainment in the town.

“It is great to see stores investing in Shrewsbury and the opening of Acoustic Boutique will be a fantastic addition to the town’s shopping offer.”
