Shropshire skip firm has got it sorted

Local family-run firm waste management business Budget Skips was formed by Wayne & Lorna Culliss over a decade ago and was started by purchasing two used skips and a skip loading back fitted to an ex-BT lorry, which was then hired out to family and friends.  Since then, Budget Skips has grown year on year.

Based out of the former Cruckmeole brickyard in Hanwood just a couple of miles outside Shrewsbury this growing firm has invested heavily in recent years in response to the financial pressures of the Landfill Tax.  With a typical builders skip weighing several tonnes and the government taking £80 for every tonne of general waste landfilled – it simply isn’t a commercially viable option to tip direct to landfill anymore.

As a company they also feel morally obliged to ensure that landfill is kept to a minimum and to recycle where possible. So to make sure they keep ahead in the waste management industry they have a continuous improvement programme which means heavily investing in capital assets such as trommelling machinery to grade, sort and recycle where possible.  They currently recover economic value from over 80% of all waste they manage which is pretty impressive.

Typical items that are recycled include Soil, Hardcore, Chipboard, Glass, Cardboard, Paper, Plastics.

The firm is also committed to the local community, and have a keen interest in supporting local charities.  The company's aim is to provide a reliable and affordable way for both the public and local businesses to dispose of all types of waste.  And most importantly, to keep Shropshire recycling!  For more information contact them directly on 01743 860496 or visit their website www.budgetskips.co.uk
