Success for record shop owner's own release

Joseph Cave, the proprietor of Shrewsbury record store Cave Records - launched his solo album on vinyl at the end of August. Hoards of the shop's supporters have already acquired their own copies of the limited-edition release and Joe has been overwhelmed by the response from Shropshire music fans.

A psych pop album, Psych Out The Science is very unique, as it has been released on a limited 12” purple vinyl pressing, with just 250 editions!

Joe himself, has played all the instruments and recorded the majority of the record within his own home studio. It has been mixed by Ben Jones and mastered by audio legend Jon Astley. Jon, is the industry legend  who has worked with artists including The Who, The Zombies, Led Zeppelin, George Harrison and Tori Amos to name just a few.

The album was initially released on Wednesday August 20 - and it is now available to purchase from Cave Records, which is situated within The Parade Shopping Centre in the heart of Shrewsbury. Interested people can also find out more information and purchase the record, from the new website and online shop of Cave Records, which also launched at the end of August.

Speaking of his album, Joe Cave said “This has been a great achievement for both the shop and myself as a musician. Seeing the completed album actually go on sale and succeed, is fantastic!"

Becki Cave, his wife and business partner added “I’m so pleased that we’ve been able to release Joe’s album through the shop and also combine the launch with the unveiling of our new website too.”
