Local Author Celebrates Business Bestseller

A brand new business book published by a Shropshire entrepreneur and business consultant has taken Amazon by storm, reaching bestseller status just weeks after being launched.

Alan S Adams, who runs Shropshire-based Horizons Consultants, has seen his book Survive to Thrive: Five Steps to Growing Your Dream Business reach the second spot in the Amazon UK business and entrepreneurship charts and third on the global Amazon.com charts despite only being published last month.

Structured around five core business tips, and supported by a range of online tools and follow-on support, the book has already attracted a range of five-star reviews and a publicity campaign launching imminently expects to drive significant further sales. “We’re planning some exciting national promotion and publicity around the book launch” Alan explained, “but as this hadn’t kicked off yet we chose to share it with some of our Shropshire clients and friends as well as to make a few copies available for free download, and that really seems to have got the ball rolling. Comments and feedback so far have been really positive, and with our US sales more than matching the UK it’s great to know that it’s having an impact overseas too.”

A business coach, consultant and trainer, Alan is also a disaster recovery and continuity planning expert, a Master Neuro Linguistic Programming practitioner, a qualified life coach, and an entrepreneur in his own right. He’s practised in the county for the last three years and as an approved Growth Accelerator and Growth Vouchers coach he’s supported a large number of businesses in the region to achieve their own growth plans and business potential.

“Because of my work here in Shropshire, and further afield, I know first-hand the challenges that business owners face, which is why I’ve deliberately kept the book accessible at just over 120 pages, ensuring that even the busiest entrepreneurs can read it. And I’ve based it around practical tips and techniques that can be taken away and implemented immediately, plus I’ve included lots of stories to illustrate the points that I’ve made. While I know that much of the guidance isn’t rocket science, it is a reminder of what needs to be done to help grow a profitable business which actually works for the business owner” explained Alan.

“I’m always shocked by how few business owners are the highest paid person per hour in their company, and know that many went into business with dreams of a great work-life balance, ample money to fund a great lifestyle, and being master of their own destiny, whereas a shockingly low number actually ever reach that point.”

The book saw over 850 downloads in its first week in the Amazon charts, with hard copies flying off the virtual shelves too. “Where Survive to Thrive differs from many other business books” added Alan, “is that I’ve created a dedicated complementary website www.alansadams.com to host a free range of supporting tools which will make it even easier for business owners to take action and to help them move from surviving to thriving” he concluded.
