V festival welcomes Great British Spoon Gorilla as VIP Guest

A world-famous and record-breaking sculpture will feature as a VIP attraction at one of the country’s largest music festivals.

The Great British Spoon Gorilla, created by the British Ironwork Centre, Oswestry, from more than 40,000 spoons generously donated by children from around the world, will be a VIP guest at this weekend’s V festival at Weston Park.

Organisers of the festival, which features internationally-renowned music acts such as Justin Timberlake, The Killers, Elbow and Rudimental in its line-up, were delighted when the Centre agreed to arrange for the Spoon Gorilla to greet special guests in their VIP area.

The unique cutlery creation will occupy a prime location, overlooking the lake within Weston Park’s stunning grounds.

Clive Knowles, Chairman, said “There has been incredible demand for the Great British Spoon Gorilla to appear at events over the summer – he has proved to be a huge draw for photo opportunities wherever he has been!”

“He will shortly begin his “Tour of Residencies” of Children’s Hospitals and Hospices around the country after his final county show appearances - we were only too pleased to agree for him to appear at V festival to meet with their thousands of guests before he departs.”
