Jaws makes its debut at the Big Art Show

The latest spectacular work by Shropshire-based sculptor Alfie Bradley has made a splash at Shrewsbury's inaugural Big Art Show.

Alfie, youngest sculptor at the British Ironwork Centre whose stunning Spoon Gorilla made headlines earlier this year, created the eye-catching shark sculpture specifically for the show and as an example of an item that he would particularly like to exhibit at the Natural History Museum or the Tate Gallery, London.

The Mayor of Shrewsbury, Councillor Mrs Beverley Baker, kindly unveiled Alfie's latest creation to the show's many visitors.

The British Ironwork Centre's talented team was also represented by their female blacksmith, Annie Stokes, who gave live blacksmithing demonstrations  from her forge which was transported specially for the show.

Clive Knowles, Chairman, said "It has been our pleasure to support David Dawkins and the team who have worked so hard to make the event a success. We would like to thank the Mayor, Councillor Mrs Beverley Baker, for her time in unveiling the shark - it certainly seemed to make a splash with all who came to see it!"
