Coaching company organise trips to Premier League stadiums

Shropshire youngsters have the chance to visit some of England's best known football stadiums during the summer school holidays thanks to a series of exciting trips organised by county company Crossbar Coaching Education in Sport.

They have arranged trips to the home grounds of Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City to help keep football crazy youngsters occupied during the long summer break.

The tours will kick off with a visit to Manchester United's Old Trafford on Friday, July 25.

Crossbar will then run buses to Liverpool's Anfield home on Thursday, August 7 and to Premier League champions Manchester City's Etihad Stadium on Thursday, August 21.

Gavin Cowan, director or Crossbar Coaching, said the tours were proving to be very popular and he is urging people to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Buses will pick up in both Shrewsbury and Telford.

The trips are open to youngsters and also their parents at a cost of £25 per person.

He added: "These trips are a great experience for the kids and the adults also enjoy them. We have got plenty of staff on hand so parents don't have to come but a lot of them want to and for £25 for their travel, a tour of the stadium, a tour of the museum and the club shop, it's a great day out and a fantastic experience.

"We start at Manchester United on July 25 and then also go to Anfield, which was always a boyhood dream of mine to visit, and finally Manchester City.

"The kids get to stand within an inch of the pitch, they get to sit in the dug outs, visit the changing rooms, so they really get a feel for it. The staff at the stadiums help to really make it an unforgettable experience for them."

Meanwhile, Crossbar have organised a number of summer holiday football courses at Shrewsbury's Greenfields Primary School, Lawley Primary School in Telford and Broseley C of E Primary School.

They will be holding holiday clubs at Pontesbury Primary School and Newport's Moorfields Primary School along with Telford schools Old Park Primary, Woodlands Primary and Newdale Primary.

Street dance courses will take place at Hollinswood Primary School in Telford while new multi sports days will be held at The Shrewsbury Club every Friday throughout the summer holidays.

Familes can take advantage of Crossbar being Ofsted registered and they also offer a childcare voucher scheme.
