The Flaxmill Maltings will be hosting an 'Our Big Gig' music event at Flaxivity Youth Centre on Friday the 11th of July (tonight), bringing attention to the site and creating a celebration for local contributors!
The event will be free to attend, offering 4 hours of music in an open mic format. There will be workshops, music and dance, local choirs, ukeleles, food, drink and a festival atmosphere.
There will be a range of great acts and activities to suit all ages, including four hours of open mic performance, workshops and performances by Birmingham rapper Leo Golden Child, a synthesizer workshop delivered by synth guru Aaron Hyslop and keyboard wizard Patrick Benjamin and workshops by a local DJ and a dance group it promises to be a day to remember.
Community Event Organiser Richard Benjamin said:
“We ran a very successful Open Mic Marathon last year, and this time it will be bigger and even better. A lot of very talented people will be here, giving their time to this fabulous event, which is free to enter! We’ll also have a bar and food, so an all-round evening’s entertainment is guaranteed for all”
