The Severn Ukes and thE iNnocEnts come together for double-header charity concert at the Millennium Hall in Cockshutt

Two Shropshire bands will come together for a one-off gig next month, with proceeds going towards Severn Hospice.

The Severn Ukes will be supporting thE iNnocEnts at the Millennium Hall, Cockshutt on Friday 09 October. Both bands play a mixture of well known songs from the 60s through to the present day. Food and a licensed bar will be available throughout the evening.

Commenting on the collaboration Simon Mewett, lead singer with thE iNnocEnts, who lives in Cockshutt and has been involved in the organisation of a number of music and arts events in the village, said: “Rachael from the Severn Ukes and I both live in the area and have talked about playing a gig together for a while. Now it has finally come to fruition we are really excited. We are in two different types of bands which both love playing live so we look forward to having some fun while at the same time raising money for a worthy local charity. Expect something special at the end of the evening too.”

Doors open at 7.30pm at the Millennium hall, Cockshutt and tickets for the concert are £5.00, with £0.50p from each sale donated to Severn Hospice, and available to purchase online at www.shroprock.co.uk/thesevernukes.html#cs1 or by contacting Rachael Downey on 07808 889732 or Simon Mewett on 07779 257111.
