Shrewsbury recycling business supports the local economy

Loosemores is a fourth generation family-owned and run local business, established in 1944.

Their trucks may be a common site on local roads but they are actually a national haulier (with over 30 vehicles) offering general and specialist haulage services moving the weird and wonderful no matter what the size or shape throughout the UK, and internationally.

They are also fully licenced to handle waste and provide a real asset to the local economy through their site at Battlefield in Shrewsbury where they offer a commercial tipping facility and recycling centre.   Used by businesses throughout Shropshire, and the wider region they are helping to reduce our exposure to Landfill Tax (and therefore keeping more money circulating in our local economy).  Every tonne of waste disposed to landfill takes £80 out of Shropshire's economy as tax paid to Whitehall.  So by recycling it here instead we not only create local jobs, investment and useful materials for the county, but we keep more money in the hands of local businesses too.

Loosemores Trade Waste Recycling Centre is licensed to accept the following waste types:

  • General waste;

  • Commercial waste (loose and compacted);

  • Builders waste;
  • Plasterboard;

  • Mixed plastics;

  • Dry mixed recyclables including glass, paper, cardboard, metal etc;

  • Green waste;

  • Wood waste (grade A and B);

  • Clay;

  • Mixed inert;

  • Hardcore / Concrete / Tarmac.

They currently recycle around 80% of the waste received.  They can also collect your waste – with a full range of skips and containers to suit.  For more information on their local recycling services and how they can help your business to reduce waste and save money, visit their website.
