Shrewsbury Potato Day event

Grow your own? Thinking about giving it a go? Well then you ought to come on down to the Shrewsbury Potato Day to stock up on seed potatoes and find out more about growing your own veg.

• 10am - 1pm
• Free entry
• Shropshire Wildlife Trust, on Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury

Stock up on traditional and new varieties of seed potatoes, vegetable seed and onion sets. Demonstrations and advice on how to grow the best quality vegetables and how to create a plot that will keep you supplied with fresh, healthy food.  Also going on at this event there will be a seed swap, second hand books and gardening equipment and lots of fun for the family with potato printing and homemade (potato themed) refreshments.

Look out for our volunteer 'Master Composters' who will be running a stand all day to offer their expert advice on how you can save money, reduce rubbish and improve your garden by home composting your kitchen and garden waste to create a wonderful free soil improver for your garden.  For more information on the Shropshire Master Composters visit http://www.shropshirecomposters.co.uk
