Recycle your old spoons

Unwanted cutlery is being sought to help spoon-bending supremo Uri Geller create a highly-unusual gorilla sculpture.

Recycling operative Kevin Peters from Veolia (pictured above) with some of the spoons collected so far by Veolia Environmental Services, the waste contractor for Shropshire Council, is urging local residents to donate their unwanted spoons to help with the creation of the 12ft statue.

Geller is working on the project with The British Ironwork Centre in Oswestry but requires thousands more spoons to be able to finish the piece.

People wanting to help with the unusual scheme can bring their spoons to one of the Councils Household Recycling Centres which are located in Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Craven Arms, Oswestry and Whitchurch.
