Text donation service launched

Shropshire youth arts charity the Hive, which works with young people across the county to provide creative opportunities, has today launched a new service which enables prospective supporters to donate to the organisation via texting on a mobile phone.

The Hive is the latest amongst a whole raft of national and local charities which are utilisng the Just-Text Giving service which is offered through Vodafone as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility. People can donate to the Hive within a few seconds by texting the code HMMA05 followed by £2, £5 or £10 to the number 70070.

Research and studies offer evidence to support the fact that involvement and experience of the arts and culture, is an important element of a young person's education and development. Creative experiences help shape confidence, self esteem and a sense of empowerment and responsibility. This is what the Hive holds behind its ethos, to support the youth of Shropshire in their efforts to seek either a personal or vocational ambition.

Habib Malik-Mansell from the Hive said "Text is a fantastic medium in which people can donate within a few seconds. With the majority of us spending more time on our phones as a nation and using them for an increasing number of day-to-day tasks, it made sense for the Hive to make the most of the opportunity which a text-donation function presents."

People can make a one-off donation and help the next generation of the county by grabbing their mobile and taking a minute at most to text HMMA05 £2 to 70070. For more http://www.hiveonline.org.uk/donate/
