Saying goodbye to Maggy

A Shropshire youth arts charity will be bidding a very fond farewell to one of its longest serving members of staff tomorrow. The Hive in Shrewsbury will say goodbye to Financial Administrator Maggy Casewell on June 12.

Maggy originally started working in 2000 at what was the former Belmont Arts Centre and she has continued to work as Financial Administrator for the Hive until now, since it launched in 2008. She has lived in Shrewsbury for over 40 years having been born and grown up in Dorset. She has two grown up children and four grandchildren.

Maggy’s role at the Hive has seen her witness the organisation’s evolvement into one of Shropshire’s leading art charities. She has been involved in key stages of the company’s development; having initially worked at Walker House in Radbrook before transferring to Belmont Arts Centre.

Speaking of Maggy’s retirement, Alyson Lanning, Director of the Hive said “This is a time of mixed emotions for all of us! Maggy has been an amazing member of the Hive team and we will miss her terribly. However we wish her a long and happy retirement and a well deserved rest."
