Half-term film-making workshop

Young people may have only recently returned to school but a Shropshire arts venue is already looking towards the arrival of half-term in only a few weeks time! The Hive Music and Media Centre in Shrewsbury is offering children the chance to participate in an exciting one day film-making workshop.

Taking place on Tuesday February 19, participants will explore digital film production techniques. The day will begin with a session watching select short films and discussing them as a group, before young people will then capture the magic of cinema, by going out on location around the town. They will be able to gain professional film production experience both behind and in-front of the camera.

The workshop during February half-term will take place between 10am and 3:30pm and is aimed at those aged 8-13. Places cost £17.50 for the day.

Habib Malik-Mansell from the Hive said "Our film-making workshop in February half-term is perfect for any young people who have a passion for film, or are simply looking to develop new creative skills whilst having fun at the same time. The workshop will give participants the chance to gain real-life experience which could prove invaluable to them in the future, especially if film and cinema is something which they have a great interest in. "

Places for the February half-term workshop can be booked by calling the centre on 01743 234970 or by dropping by the Hive in person at 5 Belmont, SY1 1TE. For information http://www.hiveonline.org.uk/holidayworkshops/
