Gentleman Rhymer returns to Hive

The Hive in Shrewsbury is soon to host an intriguing evening of Chap Hop - when Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer brings his unique rap style to the town once again. Tickets for the event, billed by organisers as a 'truly amazing experience' are incredibly limited and due to sell incredibly fast!

Having spent the best part of a decade bringing manners back to popular culture, Mr B promises to entertain and amuse the audience with his ingenious stylings. Aiming to dazzle with dignity, he will be performing well-known pieces from the world of Hip-Hop, re-worked in true Chap-Hop fashion.

The musician is said to be on a one-man mission to introduce Hip-Hop to the Queen’s English and he is delighted to present Chap-Hop live for Shropshire music fans. He will take to the Hive's stage for this special performance in Shropshire, ahead of showcasing his talents at the Edinburgh Fringe for a fortnight.

Mr.B has fast gained a reputation nationally as an eloquent and entertaining live performer, playing recitals across the UK and across the continent. He has graced Glastonbury Festival, club NME in Paris and the Edinburgh fringe, amongst many other venues and festivals. His recent video ‘Chap-Hop history’ has received over half a million hits on Youtube and his upcoming performance in Shrewsbury offers a rare opportunity for people to experience the Chap Hop genre in Shropshire.

The Gentleman Rhymer will perform at the Hive on Sunday August 3, with doors opening at 7:30pm and the event starting at 8pm. Tickets are £10 in advance and are available via the Hive's box office.

Habib Malik-Mansell from the Hive said "As one of Shrewsbury's leading live music venues, we are always keen to showcase the best of the UK's emerging musical and performance talent. Mr B is just that - and his show at the centre next month should provide a fantastic night of entertainment for the audience. As The Gentleman Rhymer himself would say, it really should be a splendid evening!"
