Fundraising gig for Alzheimer's Society

A local student from Shrewsbury Sixth Form College is organising a charitable concert to take place at the Hive Music and Media Centre in Shrewsbury next month. The aim of the event is to raise funds for the Alzheimers Society and the gig will feature performances from some of Shropshire's finest young bands!

The gig on Wednesday February 20 at the venue will be headlined by Not Completely Blonde, who have developed a large following throughout the county with music fans. They will be joined on stage by Polly and the Wolf, along with The Accidents - and there will also be a young DJ on hand to entertain the audience too.

Catherine Holbrook, who is a student at the Shrewsbury Sixth Form College has arranged the fund-raising concert. She is also a member of the local branch of the Alzheimers Society.

Habib Malik-Mansell of the Hive said "As a venue, it's fantastic to host such an event at the Hive, where we have a young person aiming to raise funds for a very worthy charity, through the power of music. This one-off gig provides the chance for three very talented Shropshire bands to take to the stage too and people will be able to enjoy the stunning live music, safe in the knowledge that they are helping raise funds to support the important work of the Alzheimer's Society".

Tickets for the event on Wednesday February 20 cost £5 and they will be available on the door. Doors open at 7:00pm and the gig will start at 7:30pm.
