Shrewsbury prison will be closing its doors for the final time as a Shropshire removals company moves in to supervise the final clear out of equipment.
Glyn Upton Removals vans will be outside the Dana prison on Tuesday morning next week to carry out office furniture and medical equipment.
They will be transported aboard two seven and a half tonne removals vans to Stoke Heath young offenders institute at Market Drayton.
“We are moving medical equipment and files, desks and other office equipment from the main office block,” said Kevin Fray, Sales Manager for Glyn Upton’s Removals.
“There is also a hospital bed which has to go which is in a couple of the cells which have been turned into one room.”
Glyn Upton is a third generation member of the established Shropshire family business with a purpose built removals firm with container and archive storage at Cluddley next to the M54 near Wellington.
