New financial service launched ...

Hola to new financial planning venture …

A Shropshire man who spent two decades working abroad in Spain has since returned to the county and launched a completely new business venture.

Originally from Nescliffe, near Shrewsbury, Philip Robinson has qualified to become a financial planner as an Associate Partner of St. James’s Place Wealth Management, one of the UK’s leading wealth management organisations, and will base the new venture in Shrewsbury.

Philip is a former pupil of Shrewsbury School and knows the county well.

After qualifying in Estate Management and Valuation at Nottingham Trent University, he worked in the Commercial property sector in Bristol where he met wife Lisa, before moving to Spain. Philip subsequently returned to Shropshire three years ago, joining regional property consultants Berrys.

Philip commented: “Living and working in Spain enabled me to meet and work with ex-pats from across the world, giving me a valuable insight into the different needs of people when it comes to financial planning.

“During my time in Spain I attended many networking and business meetings where I was the only English speaker there.  This allowed me to hone my skills in forging strong relationships and communicating in new ways, all as I was still getting a grasp of the language

“The intensive training I’ve received with the St. James’s Place Academy in Solihull has been even more demanding than learning a foreign language.  There is a huge responsibility that comes with being a financial planner and I am very grateful for the support and continued development that I receive from the Academy. With a lot of hard work going into reaching the very high standards required, I’m excited to be starting this new venture.

“I now look forward to building new relationships as a trusted wealth manager and help individuals, families and businesses to plan for their futures.

Academy head of business, Andy Payne, added: “The Academy programme offers expert training and support to ensure those who qualify have the technical knowledge and client focus necessary to deliver top-quality advice.  As personal finance becomes ever more complex, there is an increased need for sound financial advice, which the people of Shropshire and further afield will now be able to access through Philip.”

The services offered by Philip will include investment planning, retirement planning, inheritance tax issues and international financial planning.
