Walk for Health in Shrewsbury

Joining a health walk is a great way to stay active, meet new people from the local area and explore new walks in your surroundings.

As the county town of Shropshire, Shrewsbury benefits from immediate access to glorious countryside within a few minutes - and as such, provides the perfect location for participation in the new health walks initiative, which is now in force across the country.

It is believed that people who walk more will feel the difference within days - and walking in a group is a great way to start walking and to stay motivated.

All walks are risk assessed and lead by trained Volunteer Walk Leaders, with tea and coffee available after the walk - and new walkers are always welcome!

The next Shrewsbury health-walk is taking place on Friday 29th June and it is free to come along and participate.

The meeting point is Pontesbury Medical Practice, Hall Bank, Pontesbury, SY5 0RF and the length of the walk will be between 2-3 miles. Shropshire Council faciliate the walk, which is suitable for all ages and walking abilities. For more information, email [email protected]

Walks are scheduled on a regular basis throughout the year.
